Bring the fun of a literary festival to your school with our Education Programme! With events curated for students of all ages, there’s something for everyone! As part of its long-term mission to develop the literary scene within the UAE, the Emirates Literature Foundation holds a range of annual competitions that offer prospective writers and students a chance to grow their skills and potentially get published.
Schools from across the UAE are invited to showcase their students’ creative talents in music, drama, dance, and performance at the ever-popular Fringe Stage, which will return for the 2023 LitFest. The number of performance slots is limited and the Emirates Literature Foundation team will select successful performers based on the written description given in the online application.

The Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition is a short story competition held annually for school and university students.
The Chevron Readers’ Cup is a reading competition for schools. Teams of four students read and study a selection of books chosen by the Emirates Literature Foundation team.
The Emirates NBD Poetry For All is an annual competition where students learn poetry by heart and give an emotional response to the ideas of the poet.
The RGS Guildford Dubai Children’s Letter Writing Competition celebrates the aesthetic of handwriting and well-crafted messages. This competition is open in Arabic and English.
